Scentre Group had contacted StoneSet to assist with a permeable surface for the new food court at Tea Tree Plaza Westfield Shopping Centre in Modbury, Adelaide. Again the appeal of a permeable surface here is multi faceted;
NEW food court design
- Natural stone finish to naturalise an urban environment, without the risk of loose stone.
- Non slip appeal of having a surface free of puddles
- No algal growth in darker areas.
- Durability over time – As this is a stone finish, the UV does not damage the surface as stone simply absorbs the heat.

Often for Car Parks this is due to Tree Protection Orders where large amounts of hard surface asphalt can restrict irrigation to trees. Like Child Care Centres there is also the issue of significant heat being reflected off hard surfaces.
