Project overview

This homeowner had a clear vision for something different something that expressed their personality from the very first step onto the property.

To bring that vision to life, they engaged Exterior Australia, one of Sydney’s most experienced and highly regarded landscaping teams. Known for combining construction expertise with thoughtful design assistance, Exterior Australia immediately understood the brief: unlock the outdoor potential of this Mediterranean-inspired renovation.

The existing concrete driveway was old, weathered, and no longer fit the new aesthetic. Part of the brief also required expanding the driveway footprint to create more car space and allow easier access. Instead of ripping out the concrete entirely an expensive process that would ultimately leave them with more concrete the team wanted a solution that would repurpose the existing slab, avoid a patchy extension between old and new concrete, and deliver a durable, high-impact finish.

StoneSet was the perfect fit.

From our initial discussions with Exterior Australia, we confirmed we could design a custom stone blend to match their Mediterranean palette. The client opted to combine our Sinna Yellow and Pearl blends, creating a warm sandstone-inspired surface with subtle flecks of gold to tie into the sun kissed tiled border. A sample was produced—and it was the perfect match.

Functionally, this driveway needed to withstand tight turning circles, frequent vehicle movement, and high-wear traffic zones as cars enter the new three-car garage. To meet these demands, we formulated a custom resin blend specifically tailored to this project—engineered for strength, flexibility, and long-term performance on concrete.

Because StoneSet is a breathable, non-permeable resurfacing system, it allows moisture to escape through its voids, helping prevent the delamination common in traditional coatings and ensuring the surface stays bonded and beautiful for decades.

By resurfacing instead of demolishing, the homeowner saved thousands in excavation and disposal costs, avoided disruptions, and achieved a finish that a plain concrete pour simply couldn’t deliver.

The result? A Mediterranean masterpiece with instant “wow” factor—the kind of entrance that feels like a red-carpet moment every time you turn in.
